Vallechiara restaurant and fishing lake is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, surrounded by some of the best vineyards in the world, like Fonterutoli Mazzei and Rocca delle Macie.

The lake is located in the Park of Liliano that was of a Count of the area and that can be reached in just 9km from the exit of Colle di Val d’Elsa, 7km from the Badesse exit and 22km out of San Donato in Poggio, doing the panoramic Chiantigiana. Another charming road to reach us is the one that passes from Castellina in Chianti and Lornano.

Non stop Fishing all year long

Vallechiara is opened all year long with carp fishing, sturgeons, amours and cat fish.

Trout fishing goes from October and May.

During winter you can choose to fish for 6 hours in the hours from 8:00 to 19:00 and the cost, including the fishing pole is €15.

While in summer you can go from 8:00 to 20:00and the cost, including the fishing pole is €15 or €10 for 5 hours.

Night fishing with lights on board of the lake make the experience totally unique it’s active only in summer from  20:00 to 24:00 until Wednesday and until 2:00 from Thursday and Saturday.

The fishing pole costs €12 that will be discounted if you do complete hours or 5 hours.

The fishing poles that we have are equipped with all necessary and we also provide baits like corn and cheese for carps and sturgeons and moths for trouts.

You can bring your own equipment.

You are not allowed to fish from the boat.

Fish and types of fishing

The type of fishing accepted in Vallechiara is Catch and Release or sports fishing for all fish except for trout.

You can take the trout to cook it at home.

Bottom fish should be released.

As fish we can guarantee:

  • Carps from 500gr to 17kg (all year long)
  • Sturgeons from 5kg to 25kg (all year long)
  • Trouts from 200gr to 2kg (autumn and winter)

Other things that you can do at Vallechiara

The areas around the fishing lake are suitable for picnics and at the lake restaurant you can order your picnic basket with tasty freshly prepared snacks, fresh products, according to your taste. You can also eat pizza, cooked in a wood oven at the fishing point and have the basket carried to you by one of our employees after having booked on arrival and set the time of delivery.

For those who don’t like pizza we can prepare a basket with braised beef or ham for €12.

For lunch we have a special price for fishermen who want to eat at the restaurant – first cours, drinks and coffee for €8.
